This project involves the construction of two cores, similar in size and shape of approximately 92,200 sq. metres of formed area over a height of approximately 110 metres (28 floors). The cores require a number of wall changes to be incorporated into the design, with a number of walls removed from the core as it ascends up the building.
The project difficulties, besides the number of wall changes is an architectural requirement to have one of the cores totally open to the internal glass atrium over approximately 20 storeys.
To accommodate this architectural requirement, involved the design of a truss system capable of maintaining the geometry of the core and supporting the jumpform without a perimeter wall with a span over approximately 20 metres. This has created a design challenge over conventional jumpforms, however the Fabquip Jumpform’s design flexibility has allowed us to meet the design requirements.
The core had typical pour heights of 4.2 metres with the first core expected to commence in July 2009.
